One of the staples of the December holiday season is Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, the sentimental book (and movie) about a businessman who, after being visited by four ghosts, discovers there is more to life than money. Central to this story is the character of Tiny Tim, the crippled child with a withered hand who is carried in a frame and walks with a crutch.

Wordgathering seeks poems, stories, and essays that respond to Tiny Tim—who he is, what he says about disability, how he affects the lives of people like him. Submissions should be by people with similar disabilities or by the people who live or work with them. Please submit work to putting "Tiny Tim " in the subject line.

Poet and essayist Anna Garza G'z will be serving as curator for the Wordgathering's December response feature.
