A two-page manga spread. On the right page (p.28), Mr. Kato stands outside, looking anxious against a swirling background pattern, thinking, “Where is it… Where I’m supposed to go.” Knowing he is causing trouble, he makes a sad, determined face, deciding not to ask to go home. On the left page (p.29), a caregiver cheerfully offers him a paper fan for a game of balloon volleyball, saying, “Here’s your paper fan, Mr. Kato!” However, driven by his strong desire to go home, Mr. Kato completely ignores his rally partner, Hide-san, and the caregiver, and once again attempts to leave the scene.

Image Description: Manga Page 30

A manga page depicting Mr. Kato’s psychological state. The top panels show caregivers and family members with their faces shadowed, speaking to him in deceptively gentle tones, urging him to stay and take a bath. Mr. Kato thinks, “Because something is wrong with me… That’s why everyone tells me to stay still.” The bottom half of the page is a powerful metaphorical illustration showing Mr. Kato standing alone and desolate inside a literal iron cage. A cheerful speech bubble from outside the cage says, “Please just relax here.”
